Georgia. player. 124. EDGE. Pick Analysis. Nolan Smith. 31. Scouting Report
I debated having Nolan Smith taken by the Saints but I think New Orleans will go with the LSU product. Smith will drop right into the Chiefs’ laps here at No. 31 and this might be one of the steals of the first round.
Some draft experts consider him a second-round prospect, but I think we’ll see him rise up some draft boards as he goes throughout the process and shows that he has all the tools to be a heck of an edge rusher at the next level after dominating at Georgia.
The former five-star prospect spent four years at Georgia but his senior year was cut short because of an injury. If that doesn’t happen, we may be talking about him as an even higher-rated prospect in this year’s class.
Smith finished his Georgia career with 110 total tackles, 20 tackles for loss, 12.5 sacks, an interception, and three forced fumbles. He’s an absolute beast.
The Chiefs’ defense could use his services.
