Pac-12: USC

USC football took a huge step forward last season and frankly when it comes to 2023, it’s College Football Playoff or bust for the Trojans.

There are some losses, but that’s no different than every other team in college football. We have already talked about how Georgia, Alabama, and Ohio State are starting over at quarterback. Michigan returns its starter but nobody has a bigger weapon coming back than Caleb Williams.

Williams was spectacular last season on his way to winning the 2022 Heisman Trophy. Winning that award is going to be difficult — no one has repeated since Archie Griffin in the 70s — but winning the Pac-12 won’t be a walk in the park either.

Utah seems to have the number of USC. Cameron Rising is also coming back and the Utes swept the Trojans last season. Utah will have to head to the Coliseum next season, which helps, and in 2023, USC football will get past the Utes and win the Pac-12 title.
