Dasan McCullough

Oklahoma football really struggled on the defensive side of the ball during the 2022 season allowing 30 points per game and ranking 90th in the FBS in points allowed.

The Sooners had a decent pass rush but David Ugwoegbu won’t be back and he was among the Sooners most productive players up front. The good news is that Oklahoma football will bring back Danny Stustman who had 125 tackles and three sacks last season as well as Ethan Downs, who had 4.5 sacks last season.

But one of the best additions in the transfer portal for the Sooners is former Indiana linebacker Dasan McCullough, who has been added to the roster this offseason.

McCullough had 49 tackles, 6.5 tackles for loss, and four sacks as an EDGE for Indiana last season and he should make an immediate impact right away for the Sooners in 2023. You need talented pass rushers and you have to be able to disrupt the quarterback.

McCullough can do that. He’s also a solid run defender and will likely play standing up at Oklahoma, which seems like a better fit. Either way, expect him to make a big impact next season, along with Anthony and Rouse as the Sooners try to get back on track.
