4. Cade Klubnik, Clemson

When it comes to breakout candidates for the 2023 college football season, Cade Klubnik is an obvious one.

Klubnik completed 61 percent of his passes last season. He threw two touchdowns and three interceptions and didn’t have a great Orange Bowl showing in a loss to Tennessee. Klubnik did play really well in the ACC title game, so he’s more than capable.

He’s a big-time talent and he was ranked as the top player in the 2022 recruiting class at the quarterback position.

Clemson hired Garrett Riley this offseason from TCU and that should be another step in the right direction for the offense, which has struggled since Trevor Lawrence left for the NFL.

Clemson has an elite defense and a great running game. What the Tigers are missing is an elite quarterback and their hope is that Klubnik can become the next elite quarterback for Clemson. My bet is that he will have a breakout season in 2023.
