Notre Dame football: 3 newcomers who’ll have biggest impacts in 2023
Sometimes the obvious choice is the correct one. Sam Hartman is going to take the country by storm, leading one of the more improved offenses in South Bend.
Hartman had a heck of a career with Wake Forest, passing for 12,967 yards and 110 touchdowns and he’s the perfect guy to turn the Irish offense around after a couple of years of inconsistent quarterback play. Hartman should be able to make all of his receivers better like he has for years and he actually has better weapons to work with now than he ever did at Wake.
It’s realistic to believe that he’s going to be an immediate impact player and arguably the best and most prolific quarterback the program has seen in years, but he just needs to stay healthy.
What would be a realistic projected stat line for the prolific passer from Wake Forest? I’d say somewhere around 3,500 yards and 25 touchdowns. He’s more than capable.
Hartman is easily going to have the biggest impact of any newcomer, and it’s not close.
