Head coach Shane Beamer and the Gamecocks had quite the recruiting class as they look to move into the SEC East this season. Beamer and his offensive staff have to be happy that quarterback Spencer Rattler returns after the run of games he had late last year. Parlaying that into being a high-round draft pick was a possibility.

Rattler now has the chance to put it together for an entire season. The redshirt senior will have many weapons to throw to, including physical marvel Nyckoles Harbor. You wouldn’t think that an athlete that is 6-foot-5 and 225 pounds would aspire to be an Olympic sprinter; Harbor does.

Beamer has said he’ll likely play wide receiver after being an EDGE rusher and tight end in high school. Megatron 2.0, anyone? Lining up next to Harbor could be another athlete Vicari Swain. The Georiga native doesn’t have Harbor’s speed, but few do. Swain played receiver and defensive back in high school, so it is interesting where he plays at South Carolina.

He’s an instinctive defender with excellent half skills and the ability to cover the slot. That said, Swain is dynamic with the football and can score from anywhere on the field.
