What can we truly expect from Rueben Owens next season? Honestly, it’s hard to say but since Devon Achane is moving on, anything is possible.

Achane will likely give way to the duo of Amari Daniels and Le’Veon Moss. But don’t count the five-star running back out. He was originally committed to Louisville but Jimbo Fisher was able to flip him and he had to like the prospect of early playing time that will undoubtedly face him in the 2023 season as a true freshman.

Owens is talented enough to play right away and I think he’s going to split some backup carries to Daniels with Moss. I actually believe in him becoming at least the RB2 by the end of the season.

The El Campo, Texas, product has already enrolled so that should give him a leg up with spring ball here and I’m interested to see if he seizes early opportunities.

There’s no guarantee that Daniels starts just because he’s a veteran and I think Fisher goes with the most talented back. Owens will be just that.
