Ranking the 10 best helmets in college football
8. USC Trojans
Anything with a Trojan or Spartan on it is pretty cool if you ask me.
While I may prefer the Spartan logo of Michigan State (because I am an alum), I can’t deny that the USC helmet with the gold Trojan looks awesome. It’s another one of the most iconic helmets in the nation and it hasn’t seen many changes over the years which makes it that much better. Since the 1970s, the Trojan has been a staple on the cardinal-colored helmets. It has looked the same for years and that’s not a bad thing.
Could USC release an alternate helmet? Sure, but it just feels like the Trojans have one of those helmets that can get away with not needing an alternate. It’s just that good.
The color scheme for USC just works, too. The cardinal and gold look is simple and clean and the helmet pairs perfectly with the uniform that doesn’t have alternates.
If you’re like me, you played EA Sports NCAA Football games with USC because you loved the uniforms back in the day.
