7. LSU Tigers

There are alternates of the LSU helmet that I actually like but the gold one with the purple “LSU” writing, purple facemask, and the Tiger logo is the best, in my opinion. There’s nothing that tops the one above, but the white alternate is right there.

LSU has tried to run a purple alternate and while it’s not bad at all, it’s just not as good as the gold and the white helmets.

The white stripe down the middle of the helmet outlined by purple is also a nice touch, but I just think the retro-looking LSU lettering with the Tiger head is just perfection. It’s easily one of the best helmets in the SEC and I just know I’m going to catch a lot of flak from Alabama fans who believe that their helmet is superior and yet I have it as an honorable mention.

LSU has also featured some throwbacks recently like the purple numbers on the helmet where the logo and the “LSU” usually go. I actually like those, too.

But this version of the LSU helmet is one of the best in football.
