Just how big of an addition is a guy like Zamari Walton at cornerback? All you have to do is search his name on Twitter and see just how heartbroken Georgia Tech fans are. They’re crushed that Walton left the Yellow Jackets for the SEC. Usually, mediocre players don’t get that kind of reaction out of a fanbase. It’s the great players that do.

I think Walton could be a great player for the Rebels.

Joining a secondary that keeps improving but may be a couple of pieces away from being a true threat to opposing quarterbacks, Walton could be one of those missing pieces.

After five years with the Yellow Jackets, Walton decided to utilize a COVID year in 2023 with Ole Miss following a solid season in which he finished with 36 tackles, six pass breakups, and an interception. He was one of the best players on that Georgia Tech defense.

Walton could push for a starting job and I think he has the best chance to do so of any newcomer in the secondary.
