Notre Dame football: 3 spring game breakout candidates for 2023
There are currently three four-star freshman wide receivers that signed with Notre Dame and enrolled early this spring and each one of them seems to be having a strong start to their college career.
Braylon James was the highest rated (No. 136 nationally), followed by Jaden Greathouse (No. 138), and then Rico Flores Jr. (No. 223). All three guys have the ability to crack the regular playing rotation this season and I’d be shocked to see any of them “buried” on a very manageable depth chart at receiver.
James has the best size of the bunch at 6-foot-2 and 185 pounds and the Texas native, in my opinion, has the best opportunity to push for a starting job before the year is over. Greathouse is 6-foot-1.5 and 220 pounds and is an absolute beast with strong hands and he’s hard to tackle. Flores is strong and explosive and could be a legit deep threat.
If I’m a Notre Dame fan, I’m feeling really good about the freshman class of receivers because each one of them brings something different to the table and all three could become stars.
Let’s see who has the spring game “breakout” of the trio.
