I’m much higher on Devon Achane than most. He’s one of my favorite running backs in the 2023 NFL Draft class and I think he’s going to be a star in the NFL before too long.

Some NFL teams might be scared away by his smaller frame as he stands 5-foot-8.5 and 188 pounds. That’s probably the only knock on him right now as he’s explosive and one of the fastest prospects in the entire class running a 4.32 40-yard dash at this year’s Combine.

In three years at Texas A&M, he finished with 2,376 yards and 21 touchdowns on an impressive 6.4 yards per carry. He progressed as a willing pass-catcher, finishing with 60 receptions over his final two seasons with 457 yards and four touchdowns. The fact that he can catch out of the backfield just improves his value.

In the third round, I could see teams like the Lions, Chargers, or Bills taking a close look at him. He’s great value in round three.
