3. Penn State football

You could make an argument for Penn State football to be ranked No. 1 in the month of April in college football recruiting, based on the eight commitments James Franklin landed.

Penn State football did reel in an impressive three recruits ranked in the top 200 overall and five that are ranked as four-star prospects in April.

The highest-rated recruit that joined Penn State’s 2024 recruiting class in the last month was Quinton Martin, a 6-foot-2, 200-pound athlete ranked as the No. 34 overall player via the 247 Sports composite rankings.

Penn State also got Donovan Harbour, the No. 8 interior offensive lineman in the 2024 college football recruiting class, as well as four-star corner Jon Mitchell (176 overall), running back Corey Smith (219 overall), and Garrett Sexton, a four-star offensive tackle ranked 368th.

The Nittany Lions shot up the team rankings for the 2024 college football recruiting class too and now have the No. 6 class based on the 247 Sports rankings.

It’s shaping up to be another stellar recruiting haul for James Franklin in Happy Valley.
