1. Michigan

The second conference game of the season and the first Big Ten game at home for Nebraska football will come against the Michigan Wolverines.

The Wolverines don’t have the most difficult schedule to open the season and their Big Ten opener the week before against Rutgers will be the toughest challenge before traveling to Lincoln.

We don’t know the kickoff time yet. A Big Noon Kickoff wouldn’t shock me. That or primetime. Michigan and Nebraska played a night game the last time in Lincoln and it was a classic — won by the Wolverines.

I have a sneaky feeling that Nebraska is going to make this game interesting. I’m not saying they will win, but the Huskers will be motivated. Michigan is loaded though. Athlon Sports awarded the Wolverines 17 preseason All-Big Ten selections.

Eventually, the Wolverines will probably overwhelm Nebraska in the trenches and wear them down. Michigan is elite in that area. They have depth and NFL talent two-deep on both sides of the ball.

Nebraska isn’t there yet and it will take a special performance from Jeff Sims and just about everyone to pull off this upset.
