Big Ten 2023 Heisman Trophy Contender: Marvin Harrison Jr., Ohio State

I don’t think that Marvin Harrison Jr. is going to win the Heisman Trophy but I think he’s going to have a decent shot at making the finals.

Flat out, Harrison is the best college football player in the country, pound for pound, with the position not considered. We saw Devonta Smith just win the Heisman too, so it’s not impossible.

The issue for Harrison will be the same issue for C.J. Stroud — Ohio State has to beat Michigan or it’s not going to happen. The Wolverines have a trio of Heisman contenders in their own right in J.J. McCarthy (my second choice for this list) as well as Blake Corum and Donovan Edwards.

Between those guys and Harrison, I believe at least one Heisman finalist (as in getting an invite) will emerge and whichever team wins “The Game” will probably get a dude to New York.

But Harrison, no matter how crazy the numbers, isn’t going to win if the Buckeyes lay another egg against Michigan in November.
