Will we see a big role from Texas A&M’s top-ranked signee this year? I think we have to. David Hicks is a top-10 recruit from the 2023 class and it would be shocking if he didn’t see the field for the Aggies early on.

Sure, the defensive line is one of the most loaded positions on the team with guys like Fadil Diggs, McKinley Jackson, Shemar Turner, Shemar Stewart, Enai White, Walter Nolan, and others. This groups is absolutely loaded so it would take an elite player to really crack that rotation. Well, that’s exactly what Hicks is: elite.

The five-star defensive lineman from Katy, Texas, picked the Aggies over Oklahoma and it was one of the biggest recruiting wins for Jimbo Fisher and Co. over his tenure. This is the type of player that could dominate in the trenches and become a potential top-five NFL draft pick by his junior year.

While he’s not exactly joining a position of need in College Station, Hicks is going to play a large role this year and turn some heads.
