Notre Dame is looking for that true No. 1 receiver and it could be anyone from Jayden Thomas to Deion Colzie, Kaleb Smith, or Jaden Greathouse, but Tobias Merriweather is my favorite.

Merriweather was a top-100 recruit in the 2022 class and like Jaylen Sneed, he played sparingly but is expected to have a much larger role in 2023. He caught one total pass as a freshman for 41 yards and a touchdown in seven games played. Clearly he has true home-run threat ability.

And he has perfect size for the position. He stands 6-foot-4 and weighs 205 pounds.

The second-year receiver looks like he’s in for a massive breakout season. He has the size, the talent, and the potential to be one of the best receivers in the country by the time he leaves Notre Dame. I think we’ll see that start to take shape this season.

I’m fully expecting Merriweather to become the No. 1 receiver for the Irish this season.
