At one point in time, Isaiah Sategna was committed to Mario Cristobal and Oregon in the 2022 class. And then the Ducks’ head coach left for the Miami head coaching job and the reopening of his recruitment led him to a clear option for his college career. The Fayetteville native decided to stay home and play for the Razorbacks.

The former top-150 receiver played in just four games so he was able to retain that redshirt and he caught two passes for 12 yards. He’s going to have a much bigger season in 2023.

Sategna looked really good in the spring and for a team that needs a No. 1 receiver, he could be a serious option. Arkansas lost its top four pass-catchers from last season, led by Matt Landers and Jadon Haselwood. No returning receiver had more than 110 yards last season — running back Rocket Sanders is the lead returning receiver with 271 yards and two touchdowns.

Arkansas needs Sategna to step up and I think he will from the slot. He’s a 5-foot-11 electric athlete who is going to really burst onto the scene this season.

Early on, he’s my pick to be the team’s new No. 1 wideout.
