How many games will Kansas football win this fall?

The Jayhawks have a tough, but not impossible, schedule in 2023. Jalon Daniels must stay healthy. Also, the defense must be top 100 for the Jayhawks to get back to a bowl game.

Aug 31 — Missouri State (Thursday): W Good warm-up game against an FCS opponent to get a win in the books.

Sept 9 — Illinois: L This is a good early test for the Jayhawks. They need to know how well their offensive line holds up against a pass rush. The Illini get the win, but it’s going to be fun.

Sept 16 — at Nevada: W Jayhawks should beat up on a bad team here.

Sept 23 — BYU: W Kedon Slovis is a good quarterback, but they will miss Jaren Hall. Kansas defends its home field against a game BYU squad.

Sept 30 — at Texas: L The Jayhawks have given Texas all kinds of fits the last couple of seasons. However, the Longhorns put it on them last year in Lawrence. This Texas team is a contender. The Longhorns win, but Kansas keeps it close for a half.

Oct 7 — UCF: W This is a 50/50 game, and no shortage of points should be scored. The Knights are playing their third of three tough games with Kansas State and Baylor before this game against Kansas. The Jayhawks win a close shootout.

Oct 14 — at Oklahoma State: W The Cowboys might have their quarterback situation sorted out by this game. That said, Kansas’ offense is better than Oklahoma State’s defense.

Oct 28 — Oklahoma: L The Jayhawks gave Oklahoma all it could handle last year in Norman. Oklahoma wins again, but Kansas plays them to the teeth again.

Nov 4 — at Iowa State: W Kansas won an ugly home game last season. Iowa State’s defense should be solid again, but there are plenty of questions about the offense. Kansas has enough offense to win again.

Nov 11 — Texas Tech: L  Penalties and turnovers were why the game got away from Kansas in Lubbock last season. Kansas should play better, but the Red Raiders win a 50/50 game.

Nov 18 — Kansas State: L The Wildcats won the Sunflower Showdown last year. Kansas State wins again, but the Jayhawks keep it closer.

Nov 25 — at Cincinnati: W The Bearcats have many holes on the roster this year. If Kansas stays healthy, they will win their season finale.
