4. Mario Cristobal, Miami

Mario Cristobal is entering just his second season with Miami so the thought of him being on the hot seat after 2023 seems unfathomable. But it’s very possible.

How so, you ask? Well, if Cristobal has yet another losing season with Miami in 2023, we are going to see fans calling for his job. And Miami fans are rabid. When they want a coach gone, they’ll make it known by not showing up to games and pretty much boycotting the team. We’ll know pretty early on in the year if they’ve bought in to Cristobal.

Miami has a tough schedule this season which means that a losing record is very possible. And after landing another solid recruiting class following a 5-7 season, that’d be unacceptable.

The Hurricanes will host Texas A&M in non-conference play, head to North Carolina, host Clemson, travel to NC State, and travel to Florida State this year. Three of the final four games of the season for the Hurricanes are on the road.

I could see Miami making a bowl game still, but one slip-up could prevent that.

A losing season could give Cristobal the Manny Diaz treatment.
