2. Mike Norvell, Florida State

Mike Norvell may be the biggest surprise on this list. After his best season as Florida State’s head coach in 2022, how could he possibly find himself on the hot seat after the 2023 campaign? Well, people seem to forget his seat was warming up before the 2022 season.

Fans were actually growing impatient with Norvell before last season but he was able to coach the Seminoles to a 10-3 campaign. However, they were just 5-3 in league play.

Heading into 2023, expectations are ACC title or bust and if he falls short, there’s a good chance the fanbase will turn once again. He bought himself an extra year or two with his 10-win season in 2022, but if he takes a step back, there will be doubters in droves.

Although Norvell did take over a program that had been struggling since the departure of Jimbo Fisher, he went just 8-13 overall through his first two seasons with Florida State.

Another subpar season could open the door for yet another coaching change in Tallahassee.

Pressure is at an all-time high for Norvell and Co. in 2023.
