This may seem like a cop-out, but if you look at Jeff Sims’ career numbers at Georgia Tech, you’d realize that he’s never truly had a breakout season.

Geoff Collins recruited him at Georgia Tech and he was expected to be a big-time player and the future of the program. He struggled a bit and had just 4,464 yards and 30 touchdowns with 23 picks and a completion rate of 57.5 percent over the span of three years. He just wasn’t the star that Yellow Jackets fans were expecting.

Now that he, too, has a fresh outlook on the rest of his college career with a change of scenery (like the previous two guys on this list), I expect him to have his best year yet and become one of the better quarterbacks in the Big Ten under Rhule’s watch.

Sims has never passed for more than 1,900 yards or more than 13 touchdowns in a single season and he’s only broken 60 percent for his completion rate one time in three years. I expect him to break all of those previous highs this season.

Next. One of these 8 teams will win the national title in 2023. dark
