4. Played hungover vs. Mississippi State in 2012

Kliff Kingsbury admitted that he noticed Johnny Manziel dragging a little bit in warmups before the Mississippi State game in 2012 and he told him that he better play well because the Aggies are in the middle of an SEC title push.

Not only did Manziel shake off the hangover, but he had one of his best games as an Aggies against the Bulldogs to improve to 7-2 before a matchup with Alabama.

You could even argue that the Mississippi State performance was the momentum he needed heading into Alabama which helped propel Manziel and the Aggies past the mighty Crimson Tide. He finished the Mississippi State game with 311 passing yards on 30-of-36 completions as well as 129 yards and two touchdowns rushing. Not many people can get out of bed when they’re hungover and Manziel managed to put up 440 total yards and two scores while completing over 80 percent of his passes.

That’s when everyone on the coaching staff knew that he just wasn’t a normal player.

The Alabama win, however, changed him forever as he admitted later in the documentary.
