1. BYU sneaks into bowl game despite brutal schedule

With the offense shouldering the load this season in a pass-heavy Big 12, I think we’re going to see the Cougars surprise some teams. No, I don’t think they’re going to win the conference or even be one of the top-half teams, per se, but I do see them sneaking into a bowl.

This doesn’t seem like the boldest of predictions considering BYU was 8-5 last year and won at least 10 games in each of the prior two seasons, but moving to a power conference is a big adjustment.

BYU’s schedule is as tough as it’s been in years.

With teams like Arkansas, Kansas, TCU, Texas Tech, Texas, Oklahoma, and Oklahoma State on the schedule, it’s going to be really tough to make a bowl game if you’re BYU. Many experts actually have the Cougars falling short of the postseason, and I don’t blame them.

But I’m going out on a limb and saying that BYU steals a game or two that they shouldn’t win and it sneaks into a bowl game with a 6-6 record.
