2. Sam Hartman will throw for 400 yards

The Sam Hartman era at Notre Dame is going to start off with a bang.

One of the most prolific passers in ACC history is headed to Notre Dame, joining an offense with no shortage of pieces and he’s going to flourish. It’ll all start in Week 0 against a Navy defense that wasn’t exactly effective against the pass last season.

In fact, Navy finished 97th against the pass last year. The Midshipmen allowed 250 yards per game through the air and they didn’t exactly face a barrage of teams that excelled through the air. Heck, Drew Pyne had 269 yards and four touchdowns on 17-of-21 completions last season so I can only imagine how much more damage Hartman is going to do.

Actually, I think he does a ton of damage, to the tune of 400 yards.

Hartman is no stranger to passing for 400-plus yards against a service academy as he had 458 yards through the air last season against Army in a 70-56 shootout. I see him having another huge game this season against a different service academy — as long as the rain holds off.
