Sam Hartman made necklace with his own rib (Video)

Sam Hartman is going to be a fan favorite for Notre Dame football.

Coming over from Wake Forest after being one of the most prolific passers in ACC history, Notre Dame fans are hopeful that he’s going to be the program’s best quarterback in years.

Before he came to Notre Dame, however, Hartman had a massive health scare. He had blood clots and had to have a rib removed and many were worried that he would never be the same player again or even make his way back to the field.

But Hartman did come back and had another big season with Wake Forest.

Following the season, however, he decided to transfer from the program, looking for a fresh start elsewhere and he got it in South Bend.

When Hartman had his rib surgically removed to save his life and playing career, he apparently decided to tell doctors that he wanted the rib back.

And he made a necklace out of it.

Prior to Saturday’s game, the rib necklace debuted as Hartman was wearing it in warmups.

Hartman may be the only man in America with a necklace made out of his own body part, but that’s what makes him such a unique dude. His rib necklace has to motivate him and it’s truly one of a kind.

I’m not sure that we’ll ever see something like this again and I know I’ve never seen it in my life which makes me respect Hartman even more.
