Nebraska at Michigan State on Nov. 4 (W)

The last time Nebraska went to Spartan Stadium, it had one of the worst meltdowns of the Frost era as a late punt return for a touchdown allowed MSU to win in overtime.

This will be a battle and both teams should be fighting for bowl eligibility. November road games are always tough in the Big Ten, but Nebraska was the better team the last time around and it will be this time too, there just won’t be a terrible coaching staff to screw it up.

Nebraska will avoid mistakes, Jeff Sims will ball out and Thomas Fidone will tear up a Michigan State defense in an impressive road win to earn bowl eligibility.

Nebraska vs. Maryland on Nov. 11 (L)

There will be ups and downs in this first season under Matt Rhule. Nebraska will be up after a third straight Big Ten win, but Maryland will send them back to Earth.

The Terrapins are one of the most underrated teams in the Big Ten this season. If they were in the Big Ten West, they might be picked to win it. Taulia Tagovailoa might be the best passer in the Big Ten. Plus, Roman Hemby is the most overlooked skill guy at running back.

Mike Locksley has this team rolling and Maryland always gets motivated for traditional powers like Nebraska, which will have buzz if it beats MSU on the road.

Nebraska can surely win this game but will get caught reading the headlines a little too much.
