3. Ohio State football will score on every drive except for one

After what many called a disappointing 23-3 opening season win last week, many Buckeye fans are in code red when it comes to the offense.

Judging Kyle McCord or any quarterback making his first, or even his second start in this case, in comparison to C.J. Stroud is foolishness. Indiana has always played Ohio State close to the vest in their home stadium. It wasn’t that long ago in 2020 that Justin Fields had his worst game of the season against that same Indiana team.

That being said, Ryan Day is going to take advantage of his opponent this week. Look for the offense to look like it is running on high-octane gas compared to the steam engine that was the Buckeye “O” last week.

Day will adapt his play-calling this week and will become more aggressive for two reasons.

One, the opponent gives him the ability to do so. Two, he needs to see what these two quarterbacks can truly do when they let it rip. My prediction is that the Buckeyes are going to look like a completely different offense against YSU.

They will score on every drive except for the final drive of the game as they get conservative to run the clock out. This will look more like Oklahoma or Oregon’s scores from a week ago and Day will quiet the naysayers in the fanbase who believe he isn’t making the correct decisions at quarterback or as a play-caller.
