3. Georgia Tech’s offense will win the shootout

On offense, the Demon Deacons rank 44th in the FBS with 440 yards per game and are averaging 279 passing yards per game on offense (33rd in the FBS) and they own the 42nd-ranked offense this year in terms of third-down efficiency (46.7 percent conversion rate).

The Yellow Jackets rank as the 14th-best offense in total yards per contest with 513.3 per game and 20th-best by compiling 310 passing yards per game. They have the 28th-ranked rushing offense, posting 203.3 rushing yards per contest. Georgia Tech’s third-down offense has been a strength for the team, as it ranks 15th-best in the FBS with a 53.5 percent third-down conversion rate.

All of this tells us that this year’s Georgia Tech vs. Wake Forest game may be similar to the high-scoring game in Winston-Salem on Saturday, November 17, 2001.

Georgia Tech’s offense will prevail.
