Going on the road against Clemson is not the easiest of tasks for any ACC foe, but Mike Norvell and Florida State got the job done on Saturday afternoon in South Carolina.
The Seminoles bounced back from a near-loss to Boston College on the road in Week 3 and beat Clemson at Memorial Stadium by a touchdown in overtime. The game was close throughout and the Tigers even held a 10-0 lead, but Florida State didn’t panic and closed the gap before taking a lead and scoring the only overtime touchdown.
It’s time for Dabo Swinney to get back to the drawing board after falling to 2-2 on the season and likely squashing playoff hopes, but Florida State looks like it’s poised to make the playoff after a 4-0 start with wins over Clemson and LSU.
Jordan Travis had 289 yards and two touchdowns and didn’t panic when the game looked like it was out of reach. The Seminoles showed some serious pose down the stretch and won in one of the most hostile environments in college football.
And Keon Coleman continues to look like a star.
