College Football Rankings 2023: Projected AP Top 25 for Week 5

Washington will go to Cal on Saturday night and I don’t expect the Golden Bears to be much of a challenge for the Huskies.

Michael Penix Jr. has been one of the best quarterbacks in college football and right now, he might just be the favorite to win the Heisman Trophy. He’s been torching teams all season long and that’s not going to stop on Saturday night.

Is Washington better than the No. 8 team in the country? Probably, but I can’t justify moving them up this week with all the impressive wins by everyone else. I think AP voters keep them at No. 8 or 9.

UPDATE: The Huskies scored 59 points in a blowout win over Cal. The Golden Bears still managed to score over 30 points of their own, however. This offense is scary-good.
