2. Not much defense

For neutral observers and writers, like yours truly, this game was a ton of fun. For fans of Arkansas or LSU, I can understand feeling a level of stress when their respective defenses are on the field. Frankly, there wasn’t much of it.

All those offensive numbers that made this one so fun were also signs of defenses that will have some difficult film sessions on Sunday morning.

Jefferson and Daniels were finding wide-open receivers all night long. Both defenses had trouble getting off the field on third down, and both defenses gave up over nine yards per pass.

This isn’t a new trend for LSU. We all watched Florida State have its way with the Tigers in the opening week of the season.

It’s also not new for the Razorbacks. This is the second week in a row that they’ve given up 30-plus points.

LSU and Arkansas have the potential to give us more thrillers in 2023, but they can’t be relied upon to put up much resistance to opposing offenses.
