3. Tigers are still alive in the SEC race

Week One is the week of overreactions. After LSU fell to Florida State in lopsided fashion, the Tigers were quickly written off by many national pundits. After the performance of Jayden Daniels on Saturday night, there will certainly be some folks reloading onto the LSU hype train.

Alabama looked good against Ole Miss on Saturday, but did they look like a team capable of winning this kind of shootout?

Texas A&M also looked good, but Conner Weigman’s injury could throw a wrench into the Aggies’ season.

The SEC is not at its strongest in 2023, and the SEC West especially feels down. LSU could benefit from that. These Tigers are not a perfect team, but they are really good, and that may be good enough to win the SEC West this season.

Saturday night showed that this team is not bereft of firepower. That may be all it takes to reach a showdown with Georgia in December.
