2. Michael Penix is a bonafide Heisman candidate
Speaking of Michael Penix, let’s dive deeper into the numbers on the quarterback.
He was tremendous on Saturday night, finishing 19-of-25 for 304 yards and four touchdowns. We already knew he was a Heisman candidate, but he just further solidified that status against Cal.
Through four games, Penix has been on fire.

He also might throw the prettiest ball in the nation.

The only thing missing for the Washington quarterback right now is the signature Heisman moment. Through four games, every one has been a lopsided affair. That’s going to change soon enough.
The Huskies play Oregon on Oct. 14, USC on Nov. 4, Oregon St on Nov. 18, and Washington State in the Apple Cup on Nov. 25. The opportunity for memorable moments is ample for Penix in 2023.
