6. Quinn Ewers, Texas

Ewers remains in the No. 6 spot of our college football quarterback rankings after leading the Horns to a 38-6 win over Baylor on Saturday on the road.

Ewers didn’t have a monster day statistically but the former No. 1 recruit completed 18-of-23 passes for 293 yards and a touchdown. He also rushed for over 20 yards and Texas is on cruise control right now because Ewers is playing like a first-round draft pick.

5. Shedeur Sanders,  Colorado

Colorado came crashing back down to Earth last week in a 42-6 loss to Oregon. Travis Hunter wasn’t there, but Sanders numbers fell off a cliff. He completed 23-of-33 passes but only threw for 159 yards and one touchdown.

Sanders has put up spectacular numbers, but the Heisman Trophy campaign is likely over at this point, especially if Sanders has another clunker against USC. The first three games were fun, but the Buffs got a little overconfident in their own abilities.

Sanders is a first-rounder, but let’s hold off on calling him the next Tom Brady.
