2. Hudson Card throws for over 200 yards

Hudson Card has thrown for over 200 yards in every game thus far, so why not against an average Illinois defense? The Texas transfer has been solid so far, throwing for three touchdowns and over 1,000 yards this season, while giving Purdue a veteran presence in the locker room.

However, turnovers have been Card’s downfall as he has thrown three interceptions in the last two games against Syracuse and Wisconsin, including two against the Badgers. Card will have to keep the turnovers down if Purdue wants to get its season back on track and become bowl-eligible.

Illinois has allowed opponents to throw for 245 yards per game, including 256 yards against a one-win Florida Atlantic team. It doesn’t help that the Illini lost standout defensive backs Devon Witherspoon and Sydney Brown to the NFL and their defensive coordinator Walters to Purdue.

Card will have no problem moving the ball, and will have his best game in a Purdue uniform when his team needs it the most.
