2. Brock Bowers is the best player in the nation

The deciding factor in Saturday’s game was unquestionably Georgia tight end Brock Bowers. He’s probably the best football player in the country right now, and he showed exactly why on Saturday.

In the fourth quarter alone, Bowers gained 121 yards, almost single-handedly powering Georgia’s offense on the way to the victory. His go-ahead touchdown reception with 3:01 left in the game was the stuff of legend, especially in a historic rivalry like this.

Auburn had no real answers for Bowers. The defense was effective through three quarters, and then it seemed as though Carson Beck remembered he had the elite tight end to throw to. From that point on, the Bulldogs moved the ball at will.

Ron Roberts’ defense was tremendous at times, but it faltered mightily down the stretch. The Auburn offense did it no favors, as drives shortened more and more as the game reached its later stages.
