10. Virginia Tech Hokies (2-3, 1-0): The Hokies picked up a solid win against Pitt last Saturday. The Virginia Tech football program has a lot of rebuilding to do. It seems the program is behind head coach Brent Pry and what he brings to the program. One thing is for sure: he has not lost the locker room.

They play hard for Pry and that staff. They’ll see more wins as the roster comes together, as they did on Saturday.

9. Wake Forest Demon Deacons (3-1, 0-1): Wake Forest is a team dealing with many injuries. Wide receiver Donavon Greene and offensive guard Nick Sharpe are among the players out for the Demon Deacons. It will be interesting to see how the offense will change with so many players injured. Wake Forest travels to Clemson this weekend.

8. North Carolina State Wolfpack (3-2, 1-1): The Wolfpack are benching quarterback Brennan Armstrong in favor of MJ Morris. Not sure what that means since the wide receivers and running game have struggled as much as the quarterback. The Wolfpack will attempt to get things corrected against Marshall before traveling to Durham to play Duke.

7. Syracuse Orange (4-1, 0-1): The Orange’s 31-14 loss to Clemson is not an indicator of them being fraudulent. Syracuse’s top three receivers are all injured, and Orande Gadsen II — their best receiver — is out for the year. Between Dino Babers and offensive coordinator Jason Beck, they need to figure out the offense because Garrett Schrader scrambling around is not an offensive strategy.

The Orange have two challenging games against #14 UNC and #4 Florida State.
