. player. 857. . . . Deion Sanders

Coaching career summary

In 2020, Sanders was hired as the head coach at Jackson State University, a Historically Black University (HBCU) in Mississippi. He led the team to a 4-3 record in his first season, which was played in the spring due to the COVID-19 pandemic. In 2021, Sanders led Jackson State to an 11-2 record and a SWAC championship. He was named the SWAC Coach of the Year that season. In 2022, Sanders led Jackson State to an undefeated regular season and another SWAC championship. He was again named the SWAC Coach of the Year.

In December 2022, Sanders was hired as the head coach at the University of Colorado Boulder. He started the season 3-0 with wins over TCU, Colorado State, and Nebraska.

Sanders is known for his personality and his ability to recruit top talent. He has also been praised for his ability to develop players and create a winning culture.

Is Sanders to Michigan State possible? Is it possible, yes but very highly unlikely. It is his first season as the head coach of Colorado and his sons Shedeur and Shilo play for him. For him to leave being the head coach of the Buffaloes after one season is unlikely. Some MSU fans will say that if Mel Tucker left after one season as the head coach of Colorado then why can’t Sanders? It is two completely different situations and Sanders has brought so much attention to the Colorado football program and having his two sons play for him, it would be highly unlikely that he would leave for East Lansing after just one season.

The fanbase would love if Sanders came to Michigan State and he would do an excellent job recruiting student-athletes to the Spartan football program and he would bring a fun and exciting offense to East Lansing. He would bring a ton of national attention to the program and the national exposure would be amazing for the future of the football program. However, he seems to be very happy in Boulder, Colorado and it appears that he will stay as the head coach of the Buffaloes into next season.

Former head coach Urban Meyer

Coaching career summary

Urban Meyer has won three national championships at the collegiate level. His first head coaching job was when he became the head coach of the Bowling Green Falcons from 2001 to 2002. He then became the head coach of the Utah Utes from 2003 to 2004, then he had much success as the Florida Gators head coach from 2005 to 2010, and finally the Ohio State Buckeyes from 2012 to 2018.

Meyer’s overall college coaching record is 187-32, with a .854 winning percentage. He is one of only four coaches to have won national championships at two different schools.

Meyer is known for his offensive prowess and his ability to recruit top talent. He has also been praised for his ability to develop players and create a winning culture. However, he has also been criticized for his demanding coaching style and his handling of off-field issues.

In 2021, Meyer came out of retirement to take his first National Football League (NFL) job as head coach of the Jacksonville Jaguars. However, he was fired after just one season, after going 2-11 and being involved in both on- and off-field controversies.

Overall, Urban Meyer is one of the most successful college football coaches of all time. He has won three national championships and has a career winning percentage of .854. He is known for his offensive prowess and his ability to recruit top talent. However, he has also been criticized for his demanding coaching style and his handling of off-field issues and situations.

Is Meyes to Michigan State possible? Yes, but how realistic of him becoming the next head coach of the Michigan State football program is another story. You can make an argument that upwards of two-thirds of the MSU fanbase wants Urban to come to East Lansing because they want a proven winner who can recruit well. There is a fraction of the fanbase however who is hesitant and or does not want Meyer due to some issues they have with his past. There is also the question of does Urban wants to come out of retirement again and coach at the collegiate level after having coached in the NFL with the Jacksonville Jaguars.

The most popular message board for Michigan State fans appears to be all in for Urban as they are posting updates and even creating hashtags in support of hiring Urban Meyer as the next head coach of the Michigan State Spartans. You even have radio hosts urging the Spartans to hire Meyer as well as others across social media platforms.

There are also reports that there may be mutual interest between Meyer and MSU but no major media outlet has confirmed any of these social media accounts that are saying that it is true. There are other reports that he is not interested in becoming the head coach of the Spartans so it depends on who you believe is telling the truth.

If Urban wants to coach again and if he accepts the MSU head football coaching position and the athletic director Alan Haller, the coaching search committee and the board of trustees agree to him becoming the coach at MSU, it would create a very interesting atmosphere in East Lansing for years to come.
