Alabama Football: 3 takeaways from tight homecoming win over Arkansas
By Dante Pryor
1. What’s next for Alabama football?
Legendary coach and commentator Lee Corso coined the phrase “sneaking around the chicken coop.” In many ways, college football had written off the Crimson Tide after its loss to Texas. However, they’ve played better football since the loss — save the debacle in Tampa. It’s not what we’ve grown accustomed to seeing from Alabama.
Turnover catches up to everyone. They’ve had an unprecedented run of quarterbacks and skill talent. That said, Milroe is getting better. He’s not Bryce or Tua, but he’s improving. Listening to coach Saban after the game, he feels like they are sneaking around the chicken coop. Rees and Milroe are getting acclimated to one another.
If the offensive line continues to improve and Milroe can consistently beat man coverage when opponents blitz, this offense can be dangerous.
Alabama’s defense is salty and is playing at an elite level. Dallas Turner proves he’s more than capable of playing at the level Will Anderson played. Alabama enters its most challenging stretch of the season with three ranked teams on its schedule, including rival No. 19 Tennessee and No. 22 LSU.
