Florida State QB Jordan Travis shines against stringent Duke defense

To say this isn’t your father’s Duke Blue Devil football team would be an understatement. This year’s squad has yet to give up more than 14 points in a football game this season— save for their lone loss against Notre Dame when they gave up 21 points.

However, they have faced few quarterbacks better than Florida State quarterback Jordan Travis. The West Palm Beach, Fla. native is on track to have another outstanding season for the Seminoles.

The signal-caller has done more than just shepherd the Florida State football team to wins over No. 5 LSU (at a neutral site) and against rival Clemson (on the road). He’s thrown the ball for 1,482 yards to go along with 13 passing touchdowns, 4 rushing touchdowns, and just one pick so far this season— an outstanding resume.

To defeat Duke, it will take everything Travis has accumulated in the six seasons he’s been playing college football to beat a solid and disciplined Duke football team. It won’t be the walk-in-a-park affair it was the last time Travis faced the Blue Devils back in 2020– a game in which the quarterback tabulated three total touchdowns. He was 13 for 18 in that last matchup, garnering 192 yards through the air and another 90 yards rushing the ball on the ground.

It’s going to take a bigger, better performance from Travis this time around. And you should count on him doing just that. The seasoned veteran has 44 games under his belt and nearly 7,500 passing yards in his college football career.

Prediction: Jordan Travis throws replicates his LSU performance with five total touchdowns against Duke
