Alabama Football: 3 Takeaways from win over Tennessee

Alabama football offensive takeaways.
It took a while for the Alabama offense to get it going. They got it going in the second half. It’s hard to put a finger as to why Alabama starts so slow. It took a half, but the offensive line started blocking better, and Jalen Milroe began connecting with his receivers.
Milroe finished with 14 completions for 220 yards and two touchdowns. Isaiah Bond caught one of his two touchdown passes, finishing with 77 receiving yards. Jermaine Burton caught the other, finishing with 62 receiving yards. Running back Jase McClellan eclipsed 100 yards today and scored a touchdown of his own.
Tennessee offensive takeaways.
One touchdown on four trips to the red zone. That is the story of the Tennessee offense. The Volunteers have been one of the worst red zone offenses in the SEC, and it reared its ugly head again this afternoon. Tennessee’s lone touchdown was a 39-yard pass from Joe Milton to Squirrel White.
Tennessee’s other three trips were field goals and a turnover on downs. White led the Volunteers with 111 receiving yards; 77 came in the first half. The Volunteers struggled to move the football in the second half. Alabama confused Milton, mixing coverages, and the defensive line established the line of scrimmage in the second half.
