Alabama Football: 3 Takeaways from win over Tennessee
By Dante Pryor
What’s next for Alabama football?
The Crimson Tide find themselves in the driver’s seat in the SEC West. Alabama is undefeated, while second-place LSU has one loss. The most critical number for the Crimson Tide today was one. That’s the number of penalties Alabama committed today. Their style of play leaves little room for error.
The defense can’t help opposing offenses with penalties, and the offense has to stay ahead of the sticks. As the legendary Lee Corso would say, the Crimson Tide are just “sneaking around the chicken coop” in the SEC.
What’s next for Tennesee?
This afternoon was a tough loss for the Volunteers. Joe Milton and the offense came out swinging, and the defense shut down the offense in the first half. Everything that went right in the first half went wrong in the second half. Milton and the offense were out of sync, and the defense couldn’t slow the Alabama offense.
Tennesee travels to Lexington for another rivalry game against the Kentucky Wildcats. Head coach Josh Heupel has to figure out the offense. They are not as crisp as they were last season. They’ve tried to be a run-first team, but that didn’t work today.
