3. Utah’s defense gives them a chance in the Pac-12

Although I’m not sure Utah football will run the table and be in the playoff discussion at the end of the year, it is very possible that they could find their way into the Pac-12 championship once again.

This is due to them probably having the best defense in the conference. The offense looks as though they have made some significant adjustments. They look as though they can play well enough to score with their opponents, and they may have the defense to contain some of these high-powered offenses in the Pac-12.

We will find out very quickly whether or not this is true as they have Washington and Oregon both coming up in the next few weeks. The Pac-12 generally does not have a team that separates itself from the rest of the conference, leading to a two-loss team winning the conference at times.

This may happen this year and the Utes are a viable candidate to potentially pull off another upset against at least one of those two teams and put themselves firmly in the Pac-12 championship discussion.
