Oklahoma State football: 3 Bold Predictions for Game vs Cincinnati
By Erika Brown
Quarterback Alan Bowman will throw for over 300 yards and two touchdowns
Senior transfer Alan Bowman didn’t start the season as the Oklahoma State starter. No, he was sharing time with two other quarterbacks in a baffling 3 quarterback rotation each game. It wasn’t until the Kansas State game when Mike Gundy made the decision: Bowman would be the starter.
Since that time, Bowman has averaged 260 yards per game. He’s thrown two touchdowns in each of his last two games. And he is completing more than 66% of his passes. One can’t help but think how well Bowman would have been if he had been named the starter since the beginning of the season, but that’s neither here nor there.
The main thing is this: Bowman has found his groove and is efficiently moving the ball downfield.
Cincinnati’s defense has allowed 13 touchdowns through the air, nine of them coming in their five-game losing streak. If this Oklahoma State defensive line can protect Bowman in the pocket, I expect him to have a monstrous game this week.
Under the lights of Boone Pickens Stadium on Homecoming weekend, the Cowboys will get the win and continue their fight for the top of the Big 12 conference.
