Big 12 Football Power Rankings after Week 9
By Erika Brown
3. Oklahoma State (6-2, 4-1 conference)
Oklahoma State has now won four in a row since their bye week, and the offense has found its groove. Especially with star running back Ollie Gordon. He had a total of 292 yards on the night with 2 touchdowns, where he once again earned Big 12 Offensive Player of the Week. The offense finally looks in better form, and the defense has looked better. They face a tough matchup this week for Bedlam against Oklahoma in Stillwater.
2. Oklahoma (7-1, 4-1 conference)
Oklahoma suffered their first loss of the season in the final seconds of the game against Kansas. It was a game that was back and forth and evenly matched between the two teams, each having a total of 440 to 443 yards and three interceptions. Oklahoma looked sloppy, which could be blamed in part on the weather, but the Sooners will need to get back in form when they head to Stillwater to play the final matchup against Oklahoma State Saturday afternoon.
1. Texas (7-1, 4-1 conference)
In every game this season, Texas has scored at least at least 30 points each game, even in their loss to Oklahoma. Freshman quarterback Maalik Murphy stepped into the role perfectly this week, 170 yards and two touchdowns. The offense continues to be well-balanced in the passing and running game, and the defense recorded two sacks and two interceptions. They meet up with Kansas State this week in what I expect to be a high-scoring game.
