10. Clemson Tigers (4-4, 2-4):

Our take on the Tigers did not age well here at headquarters. The ‘Ol Ball Coach spilled his mint julep after their loss in the Textile Bowl. Dabo Swinney’s comments on his weekly radio show expressed his frustration on this season. Listen, here at headquarters, we empathize. That said, coach Swinney has to do some soul-searching after this season.

9. North Carolina State Wolfpack (5-3, 2-2):

Speaking of post-game comments after the Textile Bowl, Dave Doeren did not mix words after he caught wind of what Steve Smith said about the Wolfpack being a basketball school. They’ve made the tournament twice since 2017, so he might be inaccurate about the ‘Pack’s basketball prowess. In addition, Smith wants no smoke with Coach Doeren.

8. Boston College Eagles (5-3, 2-2):

Jeff Hafley was on the hot seat, and the Eagles were on their way to another disappointing season following a 56-28 loss to the Louisville Cardinals. They’ve since won four straight games and find themselves in a position to not only make a bowl game but also win eight games. Hafley is off the hot seat and might have earned himself an extension.

7. Miami Hurricanes (6-2, 2-2):

It’s hard to figure out what to make of the Hurricanes. Head coach Mario Cristobal made the right moves in the offseason, hiring offensive coordinator Shannon Dawson and defensive coordinator Lance Guidry. However, there is something in the DNA of this team that it plays down to inferior opponents. They lost to Georgia Tech and almost lost to Virginia. Let’s see how they finish the season.
