Iowa Football: 3 bold predictions vs. Northwestern in Week 10
By Brad Schultz
2. The over hits
Now, I’m not a betting man, but if I was, there is no way I am taking the under in this one.
The opening spread for this game at Wrigley is 29.5, which sets the record for the lowest point spread in the history of college football. Iowa is known for playing in low-scoring games, but I think these two teams are able to scrap together some points and barely, just barely hit the over. Picture a 24-10 type of game.
In its win over Maryland, Northwestern racked up 364 yards of total offense, while scoring 33 points in the process. The Iowa defense certainly poses a much tougher challenge, but the Wildcats have shown that they are capable of putting some points on the board.
On the other hand, the Hawkeyes have been dreadful on offense, ranking dead last in the entire country, but I think plays from their defense, such as a Cooper DeJean touchdown will give them enough of a scoring boost to hit the over.
