Man, what a scare Ohio State had — for a half.
I was ready to write the Buckeyes off as an unworthy No. 1 overall team in the playoff rankings after seeing the Buckeyes trailing 9-7 at halftime to the Scarlet Knights. But then, like always, Ohio State woke up.
The Buckeyes turned that 9-7 deficit into a 34-16 blowout win. The game that felt like it was headed for an upset ended up being a lopsided win.
Kyle McCord didn’t have a great game and Marvin Harrison Jr. was locked up for most of the game. This offense needs to figure out how to avoid these slow starts because, in a few weeks, that could be the difference between winning the Big Ten and not making the title game.
I think we’ll see the Buckeyes slide down to No. 2 with this win because Georgia beat the No. 12 team in the country.
