Arizona has been playing well for a while now and Jedd Fisch deserves a ton of credit for this program’s turnaround. Actually, he deserves most of the credit. A couple of years ago, Arizona was in the basement of the Pac-12 and now they’re upsetting ranked teams and taking others down to the wire. The Wildcats’ win on Saturday night will launch them into the playoff rankings.

Kansas jumped back into the rankings after a bit of a slump a couple of weeks ago, and the Jayhawks proved they belonged on Saturday with an impressive road win over an improving Iowa State team. No Jalon Daniels? It doesn’t matter because Jason Bean is one of the best backups in the land and Lance Leipold is an elite coach.

LSU lost a tough one to Alabama after leading in the third quarter and the Tigers just have to hope that Heisman hopeful Jayden Daniels’ injury isn’t too serious because that could prevent them from playing in a New Year’s Six bowl. LSU needs a defense, though.

Tennessee had the annual SEC “bye” week against an inferior opponent late in the season and the Volunteers just steamrolled UConn to the tune of 59-3. There’s not much you can learn from a win like this over a one-win team, but Tennessee’s offense is starting to gain some steam.

How far will the playoff committee drop Missouri for losing on the road to the No. 2 team in college football? Not far. The Tigers held their own against the Bulldogs all game long and it took a field goal in the final five minutes by Georgia to officially put the game away for good. Missouri is a darn good team and deserves some respect.
